OccuNet is looking for a passionate team member eager to help others as a Member Advocate for Fairos. Fairos is a fair and open reference-based pricing solution dedicated to finding a better way of taking care of our clients than the status quo. Our team of member advocates are what make the difference.

As a member advocate you will interact with members to provide information in response to inquiries pertaining to medical claims responsibility – what the member actually owes for medical services. Communication takes place via certified letters, telephone and email. In addition to assisting members, you will also work with providers to explain payments received. Some additional qualities we are looking for in a member advocate:

  • Exceptional communication skills. This role is responsible for clear, concise and personable messaging to our members.
  • The ability to see a task through. Ensuring letters were delivered, checking in with members on a regular schedule and following up on needed corrections are all examples of being the best advocate for our members.
  • Detail oriented and organized. This role will need to be able to focus on the details of the claims as well as keep meticulous record of member interactions.
  • The drive to be proactive. Our member advocates are always looking for ways to help make the process smoother for everyone involved. This may include reaching out to get additional information needed or letting members know changes in status before they call.
  • Desire to learn. The industry is ever changing, and we are constantly looking for ways to improve. Although experience in medical billing could help, we pride ourselves in investing in our team members through training and continual development.
  • Confident interpersonal skills. Due to the nature of the interactions with members, we need someone able to explain complex medical payment information while also able to show compassion for the person on the other end of the line.
